Legally Radical? The Role of Law in Emancipatory Struggles with Noura Erakat

Virtual

“Legally Radical?” is an online seminar series that critically examines resort to transnational legal concepts and institutions in the context of individual and group struggles for liberation. The key quandary the series explores is why constituencies who have witnessed their oppression, dispossession and/or colonization organized, reified, and embodied in law, nevertheless often end up placing a large degree of faith in law as a vehicle for achieving political emancipation.

Our second session on Tuesday May 25, 2021 at 12pm EST will feature Noura Erakat, human rights attorney and Assistant Professor at Rutgers University and author of Justice for Some: Law and the Question of Palestine (Stanford University Press 2019).
